Dr. Joseph C. Cihlar

Dr Cihlar moved to the Chattanooga area as a young child and has spent most of his life in the area. He attended Baylor School prior to graduating magna cum laude from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a degree in biomedical engineering and participating in the honors program. He then received his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine prior to completing his internal medicine training via the West Virginia School of Medicine residency program in Parkersburg, West Virginia. After residency, Dr Cihlar served four years in the United States Navy prior to moving back to the Chattanooga area after completing his term of service.

He believes in a collaborative approach to healthcare where the provider's job is to provide education and options, and it is for the patient to decide what is best for him or herself. He has an absolute commitment to patient autonomy and nondiscrimination based on medical care choices.
